This program allows you to attract international students to the postgraduate or masters programs at your university. By giving study grants to the best students from countries of strategic interest, 22@BECAT will bring talent to universities and businesses in Barcelona.

22@BECAT will allow you to develop your internationalization strategies while establishing connections with the most innovative companies in 22@Barcelona.

By participating in the 22@BECAT program, universities will be able to access job offers from companies in 22@Barcelona and select the students that best fit their business needs. Through your active participation and direct contact with international students, you can add value to your postgraduate degrees by creating links to the 22@Barcelona productive fabric.

If you are a university and you want to participate, we invite you to sign up for the program. This way, you’ll be able to keep up to date with the timelines for the different subprograms.


Who can participate?
Both private and public universities can participate in the program, whether they are located in the 22@Barcelona district or outside of it. In order to participate, at least one part (university or company/organization) must be located in the 22@Barcelona district. So, universities outside the district will only be able to offer internships at companies located in 22@Barcelona.

•    Because it will allow you to attract international students to your university’s postgraduate degrees.
•    Because it will allow you to establish connections with foreign universities.
•    Because it will allow you to develop your internationalization strategies.
•    Because it will allow you to establish contacts with the most innovative companies in 22@Barcelona.
•    Because your university will sign the contracts with the companies.
•    Because your university will select the foreign students.
•    Because it is a service that will complement your university’s current job center, focusing on students that   are frequently less active in looking for internships.
•    Because it will allow you to participate in the rest of the activities in the 22@Staying in Company program.
•    Because it will allow you to offer postgraduate programs that are closely linked to the local business fabric.

How can I participate?
1.    It’s easy! If you are a university and you want to participate, just sign up for the program. This will give you access to the tool 22@Barcelona provides to process your intern requests and keep up to date with the timelines for the different subprograms.
2.    In the 22@Staying in Company application, under the option Academic programs, you will be able to post your information, describing the master and postgraduate programs you can offer to participate in the program and the professional profile of the students in these programs.
3.    This offer will be posted on the 22@Staying in Company website and will be available to all users along with the corresponding links to your university’s official website.
4.    Through this tool, you will also be able to access internships offered by companies participating in the project and establish contact with them.
5.    If the university decides that an offer is inappropriate, the tool will allow you to contact the 22@Staying in Company team to make it unavailable for all students at your university.
6.    Contact between companies and students, and the corresponding selection process, will be carried out by both parties through the web tool provided.
7.    Once a student has been selected, the company will fill out and send a contract proposal.
8.    This file, which will already have all the information necessary for the internship contract, will be sent to the appropriate university authorities for their approval. You must contact the company to confirm that it has been approved and make an appointment to sign it.
9.    In order to let the 22@Staying in company team know which countries are of strategic interest to your organization, don’t forget to fill out the preparatory form for future editions.

When can I participate?
Companies present an internship request: 
•    2008-09 school year: from October 27 through November 31
•    2009-10 school year: from February 1 to March 31
Select interns:
•    2008-09 school year: During the month of December 2008
•    2009-10 school year: During the month of June 2009
Students start internships:
•    2008-09 school year: Starting January 2009
•    2009-10 school year: Starting October 2009


Once you have signed up for the program you will receive notifications for each of these deadlines.
